How does automated gate attendance work?
Students carry an RFID badge or walk past long-range UHF gate antennae. When they pass the campus gate the reader sends an HTTP ping to our cloud backend, which updates attendance counters and notifies parents in real time — typically in under a second.
Can teachers still mark manual classroom attendance?
Yes. Teachers have access to the Teacher Attendance Portal to record single manual daily attendance or period-wise subject attendance, pre-populated with live gate entry status so they only need to correct exceptions.
What happens if the school internet connection goes down temporarily?
Our hardware readers and mobile scanner apps buffer locally. Gate pings are saved to device memory and synced automatically once connectivity is restored, so no check-in is lost during an outage.
Is student data private and secure?
Yes. All student profiles, gate logs and fee ledgers are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We enforce strict tenant data isolation and role-based access control, and biometric face templates stay on the hardware terminal rather than our servers.
Can parents apply for student leave online?
Yes. Parents log in to the Parent Portal to submit leave applications with medical attachments. Once a class teacher approves, a scannable exit QR gatepass is generated automatically for gate security.
